Continuous quality control assures that all required specifications are met in the initial production run for commercial fasteners and military parts. Lot control affirms that products are fully traceable back to the raw material. Each process is analyzed. The results are compiled into a comprehensive report containing raw material certifications, heat treating, plating and dimensional reports. These reports meet or exceed the required levels of Quality Assurance Provision 1075, set by the U.S Government. We are a QSLM manufacturer. Purchase with confidence.
SESCO, a certified military parts manufacturer, complies with and certifies the latest revisions of military specifications.

Classification of Military Parts
Each classification refers to the entity that has approved the part for use in the industry. These organizations maintain specifications for socket set screws, military set screws, commercial fasteners, specialty fasteners, commercial parts, military parts and more.
- AN: Army-Navy Aeronautical
- MS: Military Standard
- NAS: National Aerospace Standard
- NASM: Metric measurements of an NAS part
Military standard is also known as defense standard, MIL-STD, MIL-SPEC and MilSpecs.
- approved for the Qualified Suppliers List for Manufacturers (QSLM)
- received certification from Global Registration Service
- approved by Airbus SAS for the manufacturing of fasteners

Metal Usage and Terms
Below is further information on the metals used for our military parts.
This type of metal is a blend of carbon steel and an alloying element. Nickel, copper, silicon and aluminum are some of the possible elements in this combination. Unique properties are created using this method. Reasons for the merging include increase of strength and better resistance to corrosion. This is why industrial pipes are made of this blend. Many of our parts contain alloy steel, so you can rest assured you are receiving the best quality military parts and commercial fasteners.
A merging of carbon and iron, carbon steel is a metal alloy. Additional elements such as silicon are present, although these are so minimal that the steel property is not effected. Pipes and plates are common products constructed of carbon steel. Knives and skillets are also found with this material.
The aerospace industry sees frequent use of cadmium plating. Cadmium is a soft metal and acts as a "sacrificial coating." This is because a coating of this “soft” metal prevents corrosion and protects against water exposure, because it itself corrodes first. There are ways to enhance this corrosion protection to ensure even better protection.
The cup point refers to the type of shape on the tip of a set screw. This format is the most common. The cup point has been shown to have a high level of strength. Other points on the market include dog, cone, flat, domed and knurled cup. The knurled cup point combines the digging action of the cup point with the counter-clockwise locking knurls that have a ratchet-locking action. This subsequently helps resist loosening through even the most severe of vibrations, providing a sturdy and reliable screw.
This is an essential inventory control method used for various purposes. The process ensures that an individual part can be traced back to the group of parts from which it originated. Different factors go into what determines the specific lot.
About Military Parts
Since there are different types of parts used in the military, let’s take a few moments to explain the various parts that exist compared to the ones we actually distribute. There is such a wide range of parts that are used throughout the industry. Many people will think of these parts as components for trucks or gear for soldiers. Canteens, generators, compass, headlights, straps or axles can all be viewed as military parts as well. The components distributed by SESCO are small hardware pieces that have been approved based on precise quality standards. As you can see above, we meet standards set by the Qualified Suppliers List for Manufacturers, Airbus SAS for the manufacturing of fasteners, and Global Registration Service.
